Has this happened to you:
· You’re trying to share your thoughts in a meeting and people are speaking over you or dismissing your point?
· You’re talking with someone at a networking event and feel they aren’t really interested in what you have to say?
· You’re speaking with someone you know you have connected with before, but they have no recollection of meeting you?
· You’ve been standing in a queue for ages and the server completely ignores you and serves someone else?
If these things happen occasionally it’s probably nothing to worry about; however, if you find yourself experiencing similar scenarios on a regular basis it might be time to do something about it. Because whether you are in business for yourself or working for an organisation, the ability to be seen and heard is vital to your success.
But how do you do that? I was wondering the same thing and I’ve been working on a new programme that could be just what you need to help you make more of an impact in your personal and professional life. It’s called ‘Be More RED’.
What does ‘Be More RED’ actually mean? Well, red is a colour stands out. It might mean different things to different people in different cultures, but there is no denying the fact that it’s a colour that demands attention.
And if you don’t want to feel invisible in your personal or professional life, you need to stand out and make an impact – simply ‘Be More RED’.
But this doesn’t mean you have to try to be something you’re not. In fact, just the opposite. In developing this new programme, I have concluded that the concept of being ‘more red’ simply means being more of yourself. It’s about recognising the elements of you that you want to share with the world and making a commitment to highlight those in your day to day actions and interactions.
And those ‘red’ elements will be different for each person and in each situation, which is why I have started looking at RED as an acronym.
How would you like to be more Revolutionary, Expressive and Distinctive? In which situations would being more Resplendent, Enchanting and Delightful be beneficial? What about being more Real, Enthusiastic and Determined?
Could being more RED increase your visibility and help you stand out, make an impact and be remembered? Why not give it a try?
